What we've done: June 14, 2010

- Simon Abrams reflects on Dan O'Bannon's 1985, which took him from Lifeforce to Return of the Living Dead, and commented on some of the funniest damn movie news I've heard all year.

- Three trailers from Craig Kennedy: The Concert, Centurion and Somewhere.

- Bryan Whitefield took some great photos. See what I'm talking about.

- Adam Lemke's latest screening-log update includes works by Miike, Hallstrom and Joe Johnston. Also that remake of The Stepfather.

- I admitted that Rohmer makes me feel dumb.

What we've done: June 11th-13th, 2010

- To spur necessary contributions, Lucas McNelly announced that he's turning his developing film project into a serialized novella. Which is pretty clever, if you ask me.

- Simon Abrams took a look at Lincoln Center's Human Rights Watch Festival.

- Craig Kennedy had the posters for Sofia Coppola's Somewhere and The Tillman Story. Also: his regular weekend features Weekend Forecast and The Watercooler, plus what we've learned.

- Three positive reviews and one negative from Jason Alley. (One of the positives is Splice! Yay!)

What we've done: June 9th & 10th, 2010

- Jim Emerson wants to ask you a question.

- Scott Von Doviak took a look at the weekend offerings and decided he'd rather see that hick flick.

- Craig Kennedy is positive on Joan Rivers: A Piece of Work and Winter's Bone (AKA That Hick Flick). Also, the poster he put up of Dogtooth? There's a US trailer to accompany it.

- Simons Abrams interviews Aaron Katz.

- Dennis Cozzalio points out that a friend is back in business.

- James Frazier is on Team Splice.

- Scott W. Black checked out the David Janssen flick Warning Shot. Which I'd never even heard of before now, so that's a point to his side.

- Patrick Williamson saw The Terminator. For the first time!

- I saw The Bank Dick. Not for the first time.

What we've done: June 7th & 8th, 2010

- Lucas McNelly is working on a new project. He'd like your help to get it moving.

- Simon Abrams interviewed the makers of Cropsey and unleashed some unkindness towards The Karate Kid redux, Get Him to the Greek and Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Undead. (He felt significantly more charitable about Jacques Tourneur's Nightfall.

- Jim Emerson dissected Splice and whipped up a related (and amusing) photo montage. Then he tackles the French McDonald's TV spot.

- Dennis Cozzalio had a chat with charming indie actress Julia Marchese.

- James Frazier turned the corner on another year.

- Sean Burns reviewed Solitary Man.

- Scott W. Black shrugged at Cube and Hot Tub Time Machine.

- Andy Horbal extends deserved praise to two fellow blogosphere denizens.

- Craig Kennedy displayed the poster for buzz magnet Dogtooth and the trailer for Let it Rain.

What we've done: June 5th & 6th, 2010

- Racism and anti-Semitism: Jim Emerson was all about touchy subjects.

- Phil Nugent offered a sneak peek at an upcoming piece on punk-rock cinema.

- Andrew Bemis dove into Shutter Island.

- Craig Kennedy liked Splice and thought the Winnebago Mantrailer looked interesting. He's right on both counts. (Also: This week's Watercooler.)

- Jason Alley saw Antichrist. Also two other films, but mainly Antichrist.

- Scott W. Black played catch-up. I know the feeling, dude.

- Adam Lemke made me want to see Yatterman with his latest screening log update.

What we've done: June 4th, 2010

- Dennis Cozzalio ran down a mouth-watering series of double bills playing in SoCal.

- Simon Abrams surveyed Lincoln Center's "Open Roads" Italian-cinema program.

- Scott Von Doviak helped choose the one film you should go see this week. (Hint: It's what I should have seen last night instead of fuckin' Killers.)

- Jim Emerson pondered a letter from Einstein.

- Phil Nugent on Vigilante Force, whose trailer, by the by, is all kinds of awesome.

- Craig Kennedy posted the trailer for Lebanon, snarked about the McDonalds glass recall and then asked us what we've learned. (He's a wise guy, flies right by...)

- I found a surprise inside a late-50s monster movie.

What we've done: June 3rd, 2010

- Simon Abrams wanted a mission, and for his sins they gave him one: Marmaduke.

- Phil Nugent weighs in on The Special Relationship. And I think he kinda wants to punch Keith Olbermann.

- Craig Kennedy has the Weekend Forecast.

What we've done: The (Memorial Day) Week That Was (May 27th-June 2nd)

- Martin McClellan did a very important and impressive thing.

- Ari Dassa updated us on the progress of the documentary he's making. Awesome.

- Dennis Cozzalio posted his contribution to the John Williams Blog-a-thon, expressed his appreciation for a particularly awesome Kim Morgan piece and pulled together editions #22 and #23 of his delightful "Faces I Love" series.

- Phil Nugent wrote a wonderfully expansive consideration of Dennis Hopper's career and then got his dander up for Memorial Day.

- Simon Abrams had nice things to say about Agnes Jaoui, more reserved things to say about Splice and Visionaries.

- Sean Burns joined the Sex and the City 2 dogpile. (Not that the film doesn't deserve it.) He wasn't too keen on Get Him to the Greek, either.

- Andy Horbal announced a new project and explained why he loves Invincible (the Mark Wahlberg football movie, not the Werner Herzog strongman movie).

- Craig Kennedy posted a whole buncha stuff: eulogies for Dennis Hopper and William A. Fraker, a brief piece about a sale on some old car, a birthday greeting to Clint Eastwood, the Iron Baby video, trailers for Nowhere Boy and Scott Pilgrim vs. the World and his weekly features Weekend Forecast and The Watercooler.

- James Frazier promoted an unusual database and reviewed MacGruber.

- Jason Alley capsuled four current films, including that documentary about the mind-bending Troll 2.

- Jim Emerson ruminated on the Beatles and shifting cultural memory as well as proving that there's never a bad time for a "Mr. Show" sketch.

- Scott Von Doviak stood apart from his co-writers when it came to choosing the film to see last week.

- I am not a fan of The Human Centipede (First Sequence).
