"There is a point, and it’s a rare one, where a person’s resume transcends being work and becomes something both aspirational for the public and a straight-up signifier of a portmanteau I’d like to call ‘funcomplishment.’ It’s a body of work that says no to spare time, but yes to making inroads across the entertainment industry- becoming someone that everyone has encountered in some capacity just be thorough and diverse performances.
"In 2018, Brian Tyree Henry had eleven credits on the IMDB, spanning film and TV with deliberate reach. If he had just had his turns in Atlanta, If Beale Street Could Talk, and Widows- that would have been enough to shame most careers as far as spanning genres and personae.
